The law on renaming of Ukrainian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate will lead to a clash of religious communities.

In particular, it quickly joined the unification Council. Only then is there a chance of a more rapid formation of a single Orthodox Church. In fact, this attempt at political instruments to form a new local Church”, – said R. Bortnik.
He said that the Parliament may pass a bill that will oblige the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate to change its official name to the Russian Orthodox Church closer to the election.
“So far, Parliament will not agree to the adoption of this bill, but I think closer to the election it could happen. In this cheap and radical PR interested party of war and many politicians, who are guided by the electorate of the Western and partly Central Ukraine. The adoption of this bill will lead to greater conflict and more of a mass transition of the UOC-MP to the new Church and the clash at the local levels of religious communities,” – concluded R. Bortnik.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada needs to pass a bill that will oblige the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate to change its official name to the Russian Orthodox Church. It on a press-conferences were declared by the Bishop of the UOC-Kyiv Patriarchate yevstratii Zoria.
According to him, the bill had already been considered by the profile parliamentary Committee. Furthermore, the document recommended to the vote.
