Parliament is not enough votes to withdraw parliamentary immunity.

“The probability of withdrawal of parliamentary immunity is great. On the one hand, such steps positively assessed by the voters. Sociology shows that 50-70% of Ukrainians in favour of lifting parliamentary immunity. Elections of deputies are pushing steam on this background. On the other hand, parliamentary immunity is an element of the safeguards for their protection. If we are talking about integrity, then it automatically must be removed from judges and the President of Ukraine. If to deprive of immunity of deputies only, neither will be easy prey for the President”,- said R. Bortnik.
According to the analyst, the immunity must be removed from all or in conditions of non-democratic countries to leave her.
“It is likely that the majoritarian block the adoption of this issue, and finally in the Parliament do not gather up the necessary 300 votes. For them parliamentary immunity the first stage of money in election campaign”,- concluded R. Bortnik.
We will remind, the Parliament will consider the issue of lifting parliamentary immunity in October or early November. On Monday, September 3, said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy. “Certain areas will be amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine. This question of the withdrawal of immunity. Now the Committee has prepared a resolution on the consideration of these two initiatives.
